Tessa Monroe knows how to do exactly two things: climb the corporate ladder and cheer up her best friend Christian Douglas, the main man in her life since paste was considered a snack. Aside from a playground Ring Pop proposal and an adolescent pool-side kiss, not much has changed between them in 25 years. Now that they’re all grown up, the two friends find themselves headed down two different paths: Tessa looking for her dream job and Christian looking for his dream girl.

Luckily for Christian, Tessa knows just the girl who’ll mend his heart after a bad breakup. But when things between Christian and his new girl Savannah start to get serious, Tessa isn’t feeling the pride and happiness she expected… In fact, there’s something weird in her heart that she can’t quite name.

With no plans for romance or marriage, Tessa isn’t prepared to confront her true feelings for Christian. After all they’ve been through together, can she risk her heart, his happiness, and their friendship by telling him the truth? Or should she run away from the romance that began in the third grade?

Friendship and romance combine with messy results, but A Previous Engagement celebrates the humor of real-life love in a story that resonates with honesty from beginning to end.

PRAISE for A PREVIOUS ENGAGEMENT:

“This book had a great story line. Its written for those of us who believe in true love, and meaningful friendships…” – Anonymous, via B&N

“The characters and their interactions with friends and family members were true to life … These characters had flaws that made them who they were and made the story jump from the page.” – LR, via Amazon

“…a perfect beach read this summer. The characters are real and likable, and there is a great mix of humor, drama and love story. Loved it!” – DM, via Amazon

“This book has great characters that you’ll want to care about, but it’s also clever and funny. It’s a good balance of comedy and romance that even non-romance readers will enjoy.” – MH, via Goodreads

“…the author is able to put a twist on their friendship, and build and build this uncomfortable tension as the book goes on. Add to all of that a really well-written prose that flows for a very fast and addictive read, and you’ve got yourself a great book!” – Romi Moondi, via Smashwords

“The book was very well written. The main character amused me time and again… thanks to the author’s skill… I read the book in a matter of hours, another feather in Stephanie’s hat.” – Jason Halstead, via Amazon

“If you are looking for a light, but entertaining novel, I would highly suggest this one… the constant play between characters kept me interested until the last.” – Becky, via Amazon

“As a guy, I was hesitant to read the story, but I laughed at a number of scenes, and I really appreciated how balanced the male and female characters are treated. Even though the main character is a woman, the men in the book are not 2-dimensional, etc. Even the ending was not some big, overly romantic ending, but realistic with a hint of romance.” – D H, via Amazon
